GUIDE THERMAL RIFLESCOPE TU425S APEX VISION 400X300
Guide TU425S thermal riflescope (TU SE 3.0 series, APEX VISION): compact and ultralight, at 575 g and 311 mm. 15 mK 400×300 sensor, 25 mm F1.0 objective lens with a wide 10.3° field and detection up to 1300 m.
The Guide TU425S thermal riflescope is the compact version of the APEX VISION range: at 575 g and 311 mm long, it suits short, light rifles without unbalancing the gun. It uses the 400×300 sensor with 15 mK NETD and a 25 mm F1.0 objective lens, designed for night hunting at short distances, where a wide field of view counts for more than range.
Features
- Ultralight: 575 g and 311 × 89 × 76 mm. It is 163 g lighter than the TU435S and 63 mm shorter, which you notice on a short-barrelled rifle or over a whole day on the shoulder.
- 25 mm F1.0 objective lens: 10.3° × 6.2° field of view, or 18 × 11 m at 100 m, to get the animal into view quickly. 4.3x to 17.2x magnification and a stated detection range of 1300 m (1400 yards).
- 400×300 sensor at 12 μm, 15 mK NETD: uncooled VOx detector on the ApexVision S1 architecture, with the Hyper-Light 2.0 algorithm optimised for specific scenarios.
- 0.49-inch Full HD AMOLED display: 1920×1080, seven colour palettes, 48 mm eye relief and −5 to +5 dioptre adjustment.
- Smart recording: automatically saves video and photo with every shot, with sound, on 64 GB of internal memory.
- Uninterrupted image: shutterless 3.0 architecture during observation; the shutter only steps in at start-up and with large temperature changes.
- Hot-swappable battery: one built-in 18500 and one replaceable external 18650, up to 8 hours of use.
- Rugged and connected: IP68, impact resistance up to 6000 J, −20 °C to 50 °C, dual-band Wi-Fi and OTA updates through the TargetIR app.
Why choose this model?
The TU425S is the choice when weight and size come first: light rifles, low mounts, long walks on foot. The 25 mm objective lens gives a wider field of view than the TU435S (10.3° against 7.4°), which helps to find and follow the animal at short range.
The limit is range: 1300 m of detection, against 1800 m for the 35 mm models. For observing and identifying further away, the TU435S or the TU635S are better suited.

How to choose
In thermal riflescopes, the focal length of the objective lens sets the balance between field and range. With 25 mm, the TU425S sees 18 m wide at 100 m and detects up to 1300 m; with 35 mm, the TU435S sees 13 m and detects up to 1800 m, with the same sensor. For short shots and enclosed terrain, the short lens is quicker to aim; in open country, the 35 mm lens brings the image closer.
Frequently asked questions
How much does the Guide TU425S weigh?
575 g, with a length of 311 mm: 163 g and 63 mm less than the 35 mm TU435S.
What is the difference between the TU425S and the TU435S?
The objective lens: 25 mm F1.0 on the TU425S and 35 mm F0.9 on the TU435S. The TU425S has a wider field and is lighter; the TU435S detects further (1800 m against 1300 m) and has 128 GB of memory instead of 64 GB.
Does the TU425S record shots?
Yes. It automatically saves video and photo with every shot, with sound.
What batteries does it use?
One built-in 18500 and one external 18650, hot-swappable. The box includes two 18650s and the charger; battery life reaches 8 hours.
