NOCPIX THERMAL CLIP-ON MATE LITE L38 384X288
Nocpix MATE LITE L38 thermal clip-on: 15 mK 384×288 sensor, 38 mm F1.0 objective, 60 Hz and only 399 g. It mounts in front of the day scope with an M52 thread and gives up to 6 hours of battery life on an 18650 battery.
The Nocpix MATE LITE L38 thermal clip-on is a thermal imaging attachment that mounts in front of your day scope and turns it into a night observation and shooting system, without changing the scope or its reticle. It is the lightest and simplest model in the MATE series: a 384×288 sensor with ≤ 15 mK NETD, a 38 mm F1.0 objective lens, 399 g and up to 6 hours of battery life, without a rangefinder.
Features
- 384×288 sensor at 12 µm, ≤ 15 mK NETD and 60 Hz: Nocpix in-house VOx detector with shutterless imaging. The image does not freeze for calibration, which helps when following moving animals.
- 38 mm F1.0 objective lens: 6.9° × 5.2° field of view (12.3 × 9.2 m at 100 m) and a detection range of 1950 m stated by the manufacturer for a 1.7 × 0.5 m target. Focus is set with the lens ring.
- 0.49-inch AMOLED display, 1920×1080: eyepiece with 35 mm exit pupil and 20 mm eye relief.
- No rangefinder or MAGIC ZOOM: this is what makes the LITE the lightest and most compact model in the series (399 g, 115 × 72 × 76 mm). It has 4 interface size levels to match the icons to the scope magnification.
- M52 × 0.75 thread: mounts in front of the day scope objective with an adapter (sold separately) chosen by the outer diameter of the objective. The manufacturer states 1 MOA repeatability after mounting and removing, with no need to re-zero the rifle.
- Two-piece magnesium alloy body: recoil resistance up to 7000 J, IP67 protection and operation from −20 °C to +50 °C.
- Replaceable 18650 battery: up to 6 hours of operation at 22 °C. It charges in the charger or through the USB-C port, which also provides 5 V external power.
- Recording and connectivity: photo and video on 64 GB of internal memory, recoil-activated video (RAV), gallery, Wi-Fi with the Nocpix app, N-link to share data with another Nocpix device and remote control. It stores up to 8 zeroing profiles, which can be renamed in the app.
Why choose this model?
The MATE LITE L38 is the most affordable way into Nocpix thermal clip-ons without giving up the essentials: the same ≤ 15 mK NETD, 60 Hz, M52 thread, IP67 and 7000 J recoil rating as the larger models. At 399 g it barely changes the balance of the rifle, and its battery life of up to 6 hours is the longest in the series.
The 384×288 sensor with a 38 mm lens gives a narrow field (12.3 × 9.2 m at 100 m), suited to day scopes used at low magnification. Anyone who wants to measure distance or more detail when zooming should look at the MATE H38R, with the same lens, a 640×512 sensor and a rangefinder.

How to choose
There are four choices in the MATE series. The MATE LITE L38 (384×288, 38 mm, 399 g) is the simplest and lightest, without a rangefinder. The MATE H38R (640×512, 38 mm) has the widest field of the 640 models and a rangefinder. The MATE H50R (640×512, 50 mm) trades field for reach: detection up to 2600 m. The MATE ULTRA S60R (1280×1024, 60 mm) combines a wide field with detection up to 3100 m.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to replace my scope to use the MATE LITE L38?
No. The clip-on mounts in front of your existing day scope with an M52 × 0.75 thread adapter chosen by the outer diameter of the objective. The adapter is bought separately.
Do I have to re-zero the rifle when I mount the clip-on?
The day scope keeps its zero and the manufacturer states 1 MOA repeatability when mounting and removing. If the point of impact shifts, the MATE LITE L38 has its own zeroing function, which moves the image and stores up to 8 profiles.
Does the MATE LITE L38 have a rangefinder?
No. The model with the same 38 mm lens and a rangefinder up to 1200 m is the MATE H38R, which also has a 640×512 sensor and MAGIC ZOOM.
What battery does it use and how long does it last?
One replaceable 18650 battery, with up to 6 hours of operation at 22 °C. Real battery life depends on the use of Wi-Fi and recording.
Can the MATE LITE L38 be used as a monocular?
Yes. The manual provides a monocular mode as well as the clip-on mode in front of the scope.
At what distance does the MATE LITE L38 detect an animal?
The manufacturer states 1950 m for a 1.7 × 0.5 m target. Detection means seeing that there is a heat source; recognising and identifying the animal requires much shorter distances.
