Serving jig from Avalon, the tool used to apply the serving thread over the bowstring, whether in the nock area or at the wear points.

The jig holds the thread spool and keeps the tension while it turns around the string, which gives tight, even wraps. Done by hand, without this tool, the serving ends up loose or uneven and comes undone after only a few sessions.

It is a bench accessory for anyone who does their own string maintenance or builds strings from scratch.
